VEHICLE FLEET MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
An essential tool for private use gas stations or for gas stations that wish to serve and include in their clientele companies that have fleets of vehicles.
The vehicle identification system works as follows:
The vehicle enters the service station and is directed in front of a pump equipped with the system.
This particular pump, while in standby mode, is activated for fuel supply only after communication with the Fastrack vehicle system.
Once the pump nozzle is inserted into the vehicle’s fuel filler neck,
the Fastrack vehicle identification system communicates with the corresponding system installed in the vehicle and collects the following data:
Vehicle ID
The above information is forwarded to his computer installed at the gas station and there the following parameters are checked:
Vehicle ID
Fuel type compatibility of the selected nozzle with the vehicle
Fuel supply limit control at vehicle level
Limit control on fuel supply at company – fleet level
If none of the above factors impose a refueling ban, the pump is authorized and activated to fuel, automatically capping that refueling if a limit level is set.
If during refueling the pump nozzle is removed from the vehicle mouth, the pump automatically shuts off the fuel flow after 1 to 2 seconds (this does not apply to some pumps) to cover the “piston knock” element.
This ensures that the entire amount of fuel recorded by the pump has entered the vehicle.
When returning the nozzle to the pump, the transaction is completed, the pump “locks” again and at the gas station it is issued automatically and in accordance with all the requirements of the K.B.S. either a Shipment Note, or a Shipment Note-Invoice, in which the following information is written accurately and without any human intervention:
Date & time of transaction
Vehicle registration number
Fuel type
Fuel quantity
Unit price
Total transaction value
Vehicle odometer mileage (if applicable)
Vehicle engine hours (alternate)
It is possible to issue from a thermal printer next to the pump a “receipt” document with all the details of the gas station for the driver to take after completing the transaction.
In the database of the Fastrack system, all transactions are recorded in detail in combination with the corresponding documents and forwarded to corresponding reports, the accessibility of which is achieved depending on the level of access defined per user.
As the pump inserted into the system is “tied” to waiting for a vehicle that has a Fastrack system installed, it may create a problem in the orderly operation of the gas station, as when the need arises for an emergency reason, they will not be able to provide fuel except for a specific vehicle that has a ring.
